CHRONICLES OF LAURA

“You again?” the headmistress, Miss Donna, which is also our Beta's wife, sighed for the umpteen times and shook her head. She was tired, and so was everyone else.

I've been a thorn in their flesh ever since I came into the school, yes I held the record for the school's biggest bully and truancy, and I'm no where being ashamed of it.

“What did you do this time?" She growled.

“Flooded the kitchen,” I replied bravely, standing boldly before the headmistress. “It's not a big deal.” My wolf, Eish spoke to me in a nonchalant tone, as if what we were doing was as ordinary as having a slice of ham for breakfast.

So, they say, girls without parents and helping source become women written by pain and experience. I wonder who said those quotes, but it's not far from the truth.

I was still there reminiscing over my evil deeds, quite self satisfactory, no one will ever have their peace here. I mumbled to myself.

“You're grounded for a week, you will stay in your dorm until I come up with a suitable punishment befitting to your disobedience.” She bellowed and dismissed me with a wave of her hand.

I neither care less of her promised punishment. I groaned out a soft hiss audible to everyone's hearing and walked out of the office. Other female omega students stared at me and gossip secretly about me. I could hear their murmuring and cold eyes being fixated on me, but I paid deaf ears to them and went straight to my favorite block.

This wasn't the first time I'm going to be grounded, it was a weekly routine for me, and the fact I already loved it here, filthy with plenty of mice leaking my feet and face every midnight but amidst that, peaceful and calm for me. “It's perfect for me, too.”  My wolf stretching her limbs.

I sat down on the cemented floor and looked around with much joy in my eyes. The joy that I'm back to my little friends. The Mice.

I wasn't always like this, but since that very day, my uncle exchanged me for a hundred dollars. The sweetness in me had turned sour. We have this school that never teaches us something normal. All we need to be trained on a daily basis is how to serve our future masters better, from the kitchen to the bed.

Every single day, along with other Omega girls, we're put through various tasks and hard tests to prepare us ahead of our duties when we must've been sold off.

I cuddled my knees up to my chest, not as if I'm going to see the outside walls of the school gate, oh I mean the PRISON gate. None of us have ever did, once you're sold off to the important people from other packs, it's a dead sentence because we never heard anything about them anymore.

I spent the whole evening petrified, I know my day will come one day, and I'll be sold off, the thought of it alone gives me shivers. I laid there quietly and outside the iron window staring at the stars shine in the dark night.

The headmistress summoned her assistant to her office to discuss Laura's truancy behavior. They had grown tired of her attitude and relentless crime streaks all the time. They needed to find a possible solution to sway her off their hook.

“I cannot stand that little witch anymore, she's such a bitch and I tell you no lie, days of strangling her with my bare hands are near.” The mistress divulged, falling back into her swivel chair with her long nails fisting hard on the table continuously.

“Why don't we sell her off, I mean it's the easiest way?” Miss Stark Suggested.

“Oh, common Stark, what are you saying,” She's only but 18, and we can't sell her off just yet until she's 20."  The headmistress reminded, staring intensely at her assistant, who scoffed inaudibly.

“Forget about the policy!” She quickly sat down and drew her swivel chair closer to the headmistress.

“I mean, you're the headmistress, and you can bend the rules just a little bit to appease yourself and, of course, everyone, unless you want her to keep giving trouble for the next 2 years ahead of her.” Miss Stark added in a sinister tone yet convincing.

“I see where you're going with your point, Miss Stark, and I like the plan," the headmistress asserted. She opened her drawer and brought out a file. She scribbled down Laura's name on it and put it back into the drawer. She smiled back to Miss Stark in satisfaction with their conspiracy.
