PAULINA'S POV

“Laura” Paulina called, sitting by the bed with tears in her eyes.

“I'm so sorry… It was my fault, I didn't take care of you the way I was supposed to. I didn't give you the right medication… You wouldn't have fallen pregnant” Paulina complained, pained that such a young girl would soon become a mother.

“Ma, please stop” Laura sighed, clutching the old woman's hand to her stomach.

Laura winced a little, adjusting her bandaged arm to a more comfortable position.

“Don't blame yourself for anything. It was Ricky that put me in a family way” Laura sniffed back her tears.

“Besides, it's over a month now” she added, Paulina's eyes widened in shock at the statement.

“Wait, you knew about it before now?” She asked.

“Yes, the day I was rushed to the hospital after collapsing on Ricky's bed. I told the doctor not to tell anyone about it. I was scared and sad. I decided to keep it to myself until I decide whether to get rid of it or not” Laura explained as tears raced down her chee
