CHAPTER 67

RUBY’S POV

There was an awkward silence in the elevator as the workers waited to get to the floor of their destination and Dax kept on rubbing the back of my hand. I figured he was doing it to calm me down and when I looked at him, his eyes smiled at me.

The workers finally got out of the elevator so it was just the two of us and soon, we also got to the last floor so Dax pulled me out when the elevator doors slid open.

He didn't say a word until we got to his office and I smiled at his secretary who got ignored by him when she greeted him as we both passed by.

“Your secretary greeted you. Why didn't you reply?” I asked him as he pulled me into his office and closed the door after us. Then he turned to face me and shrugged in response to my question.

“No reason, I just wanted to get to my office to be alone with you” he replied and I narrowed my eyes while staring at him.

“Why is that? Is there something you want to show me?” I asked and he beamed at me slyly while taking s
