Chapter 38

YSABELLE

Ronan’s face lightened up as he saw me, bewildered at his out-of-the-blue visit. But I felt relieved that he looked well despite what I speculated that Connor's target was Ronan.

Why am I even worried?

With a sigh, I punch in my passcode.

“How are you?” He suddenly asked.

“One week is not that long. Of course, I'm doing great.”

We entered the unit and the twins were surprised by the sudden arrival of their father. They play in the living room as I told the nannies to get a rest now. They watch cartoons as usual while the twins fight over the character they want.

I headed to my room and washed up. While in the bathtub, I'm anxious about why Ronan came back all of a sudden.

He must have heard the news about us. Thinking about that stuff again gives me a headache.

It's not Ronan who told the media. I know how devoted he was to his private life. My experience proves that Ronan doesn't want to talk about his private life in public. He never introduced me as his wife before.
