Chapter 37

YSABELLE

My hands were trembling, clasping together on my lap as I stared at Connor's seat. His words at the back of the comfort room echoed in my head up until now.

Is Connor capable of killing someone? Is it that easy for him to do? Why?

Those thoughts are making me anxious. This side of him bewildered me in any way. I'm shocked, scared, and anxious about what he has been doing all this time.

With a shaky breath, I chugged down the water all at once. Then, Connor came back which startled me.

“Is there something wrong?”

“N-Nothing. Let's eat.”

We continued our meals without talking. He seems bothered about something, wearing a frown on his face all along.

I finished my meal as fast as I could so I could go home.

After our uncomfortable meal together, he didn't insist on taking me home.

“Goodnight.”

I flinched when he was about to kiss my cheek just like he always does. I suddenly felt fear when he was this close.

My guts are telling me that he's dangerous.
