Chapter Twenty-Seven

I lay at his side, my mind filled with thoughts of the events of this night. I couldn't believe we would have ended everything tonight if I hadn't insisted.

"Tilda My enemies will keep attacking us and won't rest until I'm dead. Are you sure about this?" he said to me while still holding me.

"Stop already; besides, I'm ready for whatever comes," I said to him. He planted a kiss on my forehead and hugged me even tighter, while gently running his finger on my back. I had no trouble dozing off even after the traumatizing evening; it was as though he were my sleeping pills.

I woke up the next morning to find him nowhere in the room. I had many thoughts running through my head. I jumped off the bed, covering my nakedness with the sheets.
