Emma's hand slowly went to her chest as she wondered what was happening to her. She always chided herself for thinking oddly, but this time she gave herself a full scolding.

It wasn't right to think that way about her boss. She thought that he wasn't interested in her, and it was bizarre for her to develop any romantic feelings for him.

'This can't happen to me, I have to control my thoughts and how I react towards certain gestures. He's simply being nice to me, I shouldn't overthink it.' Emma said inwardly before sucking in deep breaths.

Liam walked into the elevator with her and struggled to press a button.

“I'll do it,” Emma said and pressed the button that would lead them to the first floor.

“Thanks.” Liam smiled.

“You can put me down, don't I have so much weight?” Emma asked, wanting him to drop her.
