"You are my sunshine, my only sunshine. You make me happy when skies are grey. You'll never know dear, how much I love you. Please don't take my sunshine away."
"Madeline! I told you not to eat all of the cookies on the jar!"
Light yet loud footsteps sounded in the corridor. Blonde hair flowing in the wind, and a soft giggle sounding every now and then.
"Madeline! Madie!"
'Sister Mary Eunice! Oh no!'
The little girl, who was frantic from the call, ran and ran through the stairs of the orphanage, looking for a place to hide. It was like they were playing hide and seek all of a sudden!
Madie giggled while running, thinking that it was so much fun. She never thought eating cookies from the pretty jar would lead to playing.
She heard Sister Mary Eunice from her back and saw her running after me. She looked mad. And scary, too.
Madie stopped for a while, contemplating whether she should say sorry. Is it time to stop playing?
The girl frowned, wanting to play some more. It's been a long time since Sister Mary Eunice played with her. She was always so busy with the other kids and babies. She loved the babies deeply, but she also wanted Sister Mary Eunice to play with her.
'It was unfair! Madie needs love, too' she thought.
"Madie!" it was Sister! Right at her back. "Madie, get back here!"
She continued to giggle and run. They were playing tag, now. It was no problem. Madie was always a fast runner. She can outrun a cheetah if she wanted, too. Now, she hasn't done that yet, but maybe she will someday.
It was her dream to run with a cheetah. Maybe she can have one as a pet, too.
She reached the front door, opened it and ran outside. It was raining a bit, but that won't stop the little girl from playing. Playing was so much fun.
Madie ran outside and turned to the road, certain Sister Mary Eunice would follow her. She was 'it' and she had to tag her so Madie could chase after her later.
The blonde girl reached the park and giggled. The rain was so cold but so fun. It was starting to rain a bit, but Sister Mary Eunice was still not here. What a slowpoke. She was always so slow, unlike Madie.
'I was quick and fast since I was born!'
Eye wide, Madie looked at her right hand and expected Ellie to be there. Ellie was her stuffy and she was everything to her. Aside from Sister Mary Eunice, she was her only friend.
Not everybody liked Madie in the orphanage. They think she was weird and a freak. She wasn't. She really wasn't. Madie was a good girl.
She tried to recall where she last saw Ellie and remembered that she left her in kitchen, by the cookie jar.
'Oh no. She'll get lonely without me. I should go back.'
But... she was still playing with Sister Mary Eunice. Madie was just waiting for her to pop out from the bushes in the park so she can tag her. She'll do that for her, since she was so slow.
She waited and waited in the park in the rain. 'Why was she taking so long? Did she trip? Or maybe she went back to get me an umbrella.'
It was slowly getting boring and cold here. Why was Sister taking so long? She was supposed to be here hours ago! Oh wait, she giggled. She hasn't even been here for fifteen minutes.
She was so silly sometimes.
More minutes passed, and she got bored after some time so Madie decided to walk back to the orphanage, slowly though. Maybe Sister got lost in the rain and lost her way. Did she see the way back home? She can be so forgetful sometimes.
Walking down the road, while the rain was slowly getting heavier. She didn't have an umbrella. She knew I wouldn't get sick though. I was un-sickable. She wasn't sure if that was a word. She didn't really care.
Madie giggled at her thoughts and continued to walk. She was wondering what was taking her so long to get home. It was only a ten-minute walk from the park.
Was she lost?
The now soaked girl shook her head. Of course not, Madie doesn't get lost. She was like an explorer; she doesn't get lost.
She still continued walking and walking, seeing no one on the road. But then she heard something by the alley she was about to pass through. She stopped, pondered before walking to the alleyway. Should she really?
'Of course, I should. I'm an explorer, and explorers explore. Duh.'
Madeline slowly peeked my head on the alleyway. There are no clowns here, are there? It's not Halloween. She waited a bit more for something to show up but there was none.
Was she imagining things?
She was such a creative girl. Good job, Madie.
But then she heard it again. It was like a bang on metal, something hitting something. Was someone there? An animal? A pet?
Madie heard the sound again, but this time louder. It was like someone was purposely hitting something. She walked closely, trying to see something in the dark. The rain didn't help. It was getting darker while she closed on to the end of the alley.
There was a shadow. Four, actually. The fourth one was sitting down on the floor. He shouldn't do that. The floor here was so dirty, they could catch germs.
She couldn't see their faces, or what they were wearing. But she could see that they were four man, and the other three was so rude for not helping the fourth one get up. Maybe they were drunk. Drunk people are so silly.
Then she saw the shadow of the first one, the one at the far left, pull out something. It looked like... a kitchen tool. It was black, too. Was it a peeler? A grater, maybe. It looked like one.
But graters or peelers couldn't shoot and make a 'bang' sound, can they?
"Rest easy, baby. Time will come. Daddy will come and find you. 'Til then, be a good girl for me and behave.""See? This is why I forbid you to go out in the rain, Madie." Sister Mary Eunice said, "You always get sick so easily."Madeline frowned, for she does not get sick easily. She just gets sneezes and coughs but that's all. She wasnotsick.'Yeah, sure. Keep telling yourself that, Madie.'She shook her head, but that was bad because it caused her headache to worsen. Stupid head.Sister Mary Eunice was wiping her forehead as she lectured the distracted girl, saying that she shouldn't have been playing alone in the rain. But she wasn't playing alone. Sister was supposed to be with her and chase her until she tagged me. That was the rule of Tag.But no.Nooo.She chose to stay here in the orphanage because the other Sisters weren't here, a
"Never talk to strangers. You know how strangers are. They are dangerous and bad. You hear me, baby?"Madeline was supposed to deliver a mail today. Sister Agatha, one of the sisters in the orphanage, wanted her to mail an important letter to someone. It was one of her chores. She didn't read who it was for. It was boring.'Why couldn't they just use a phone or an email? That's more convenient than writing mails. But meh. It's fine.'Her thoughts ran wild in her head. She gets to explore around town to and from the post office. She was like an explorer!Madie hopped on the steps of the road, passing the park on the way. She remembered what happened the other day ago. Like, four days ago. She remembers the four men, too. And their toys. She didn't know what it was, and she didn't ask anyone else. Not even Sister Mary Eunice. Ellie didn't know what is was. What kind of toy makes a 'bang' sound?
"There are friends. There is family. Then there are friends who become family.""Cake?" I asked Hop again, who was by my side at the grand kitchen. We reached their house, which is huge by the way. Huge! It had a garden, and a separate garage. Inside there was like dozens of rooms and bathrooms. There was this huge sofa in the living room and this! This enormous kitchen and dining area! It's like a whole community lived here. Everything was huge!"It's-it's coming soon, Madie." he said, smiling at me softly. His eyes were staring at me like he was seeing something he liked. Did I look pretty to him?He said soon. He said that earlier, too."But you said that a thousand times already! I want cake, Hop." I pouted at him; hugging Ellie close to me. It was unfair. He said they had cake and cookies.Liar. There was nothing to eat. No sweets. Just veggies.I didn't want veggies. I wanted
"Dear Daddy, I can't wait to meet you. You might not know me yet, but I swear I'll love you like I love unicorns! I'll be a really good girl for you, Daddy!"I smirked as I saw one of my men beating up someone who had a debt to me. The fucker thought he could escape me and leave the country. Too bad because I got to him first."Crees que puedes escapar de mi, bastardo?"[You think you can escape me, bastard?I snickered at the man that I was holding by the collar. Fucker."No, no." he pleaded, tears building up in his eyes "No, señor."[Sir]"Really?"I let him go and approached his bed, where passports and a luggage were placed. "Then what is this, Ramon?" I showed him the passport that I was holding in my hand, a teasing smile on my lips.He sobbed, tears running down his face. The pleasure of seeing him cry and beg fed the hunger inside of me. The hunger to hurt
"Who are you?Are you my Daddy?"Another day, another sunshine! Boring sunshine, that is.It's been days since I've hung out with Adon and Hop and Neil. Almost a week, really. I'm starting to miss them so!I haven't been able to talk to them since I don't have a phone. I just go to the park and stay there, hoping that they'd go there. It's been five days, and still, they didn't come.It was fine, though. Maybe they were busy guarding someone. Or something. Like a mall or a restaurant or something.I yawned, today was so boring. It was three in the afternoon and we just had lunch. I wanted to go out to the park again, but I was too lazy. But what if Adon and Hop comes to the park? What if they want to play?I sighed. Should I go? Should I stay and just sleep? What should I do?I sighed again. I was so, so bored. For the third time, I sighed. I st
"One look at you and I knew that I could give you all the stars in the sky, baby.""Hey, D."Neil, one of my men, was standing by the door as I signed my papers away. My clients wanted huge amount of products, while some of them needed my help. I needed to prepare for shipment before the end of the week, the deadline is near and since I just caught one rat in my midst, everything was a fucking disaster. It was a fucking busy week."Que?" [What?] I asked. He wouldn't interrupt my work in my office for nothing. I shifted my eyes to him, the rim of my glasses blocking his view a bit."The girl..." he started "Madie"Ahh. The witness to Adon's stupidity. Who knew it would be a girl? The moment Adon said that the peeper was a little girl, I was expecting it to be a literal child. But after calming down and asking the details, it wasn't a child after all.It was alittle.
"Pushing someone away and distancing yourself gives you a reason to love harder.""Salir."[Get out]I snarled at the bitch who was still laying in the bed. I finished fucking her and it seems like she thought she was someone special. The room I was in was at one of my bars in the city, I can still hear the loud music from the first and second floor. All the VIP rooms were in the third floor."But baby..." she purred out, sounding like a fucking dead cat. "We're not finished yet."I turned to look at her and glared, her blonde hair irritating me more than it should. "Maybe you didn't hear me right."I stepped closer and when I was inches away, I grabbed her jaws by with my hand and squeezed. She turned red right away, her eyes tearing up. Great.A bitchanda crybaby."Get. The. Fuck. Out.Puta."[Bitch]Her teary
"Daddy is all you need, baby. Nothing and no one else. Just me. Just Daddy.""Madie. What are you doing here?"She didn't answer for a while. Her body was turned to me, and her hands were together. Her feet were also shifting here weight from left to right. She was nervous. Around me.It took everything in me not to coo at her. She was adorable."Uhm..." she mumbled, her voice stuttering a bit "Ellie."I couldn't hear her, maybe because she was a bit far. And she was mumbling her words. Her head moved and she looked at the floor, getting all shy.I smiled gently at her, even though she wasn't looking at me. "I didn't catch that, sweetheart. What was that?"She shifted her feet again, before moving her head back and looking at me. She was blushing now.Adorable."Ellie." mumbling once again."No mumbling, baby. I can't hear you." There was no reprimanding in my voice. I
