Chapter 20

Maeve POV

I breathe out heavily, lost in thoughts. The conversation was just replaying repeatedly in my head. I didn’t want to believe it, but I knew deep down it was all true. Father always taught me how to control my temper. He knew of the destruction I was going to cause if I ever got angry beyond control.

He knew about everything, but why didn’t he tell me? He should have warned me of the dangers ahead. So does that mean I have a psycho moon goddess behind me and an enemy that wiped out my entire pack? I sighed again, running my hand through my hair.

“Hey,” Ario’s voice said from behind me, but I didn’t turn to look at him. I was sitting on the balcony, enjoying the night breeze, in a small shirt and black pants. I am cold, but I am too lost in thought to notice. He came to me, wrapped a blanket around me, and then gave me a cup of tea.

“Thank you,” I said, collecting it. He nodded his head, seated beside me, and it was very silent as I sipped on my hot tea quietly.
