KIDNAPPED

The room was dimly lit , the faint glow from a small lamp casting long shadows on the walls. She blinked her eyes open , her vision blurry and her head throbbing. Disoriented , she tried to sit up but her body felt heavy and weak. Every movement was a struggle but she managed to prop herself up on her elbows , glancing around the unfamiliar room.

The metal bars on the window sent a chill down her spine. She pushed herself further , swinging her legs over the edge of the bed but when she tried to stand , her legs buckled beneath her.

Panic set in as she realized the door was locked. She stumbled back to the bed , gripping the edge of the bed tightly. Gathering all her strength , she called out , her voice hoarse and weak.

“ help! Is anyone there ? “

Her pleas echoed off the walls , unanswered. She tried again , louder this time , desperation fueling her strength.
