"The woman in the portrait isn't just anyone; she was the one who had taken me in when the entire world had forsaken me."

Panic suddenly overwhelmed me as I realized that woman must have been his adoptive mother. How could I be so stupid? I had said so many awful things to him about her - that he must be the one who killed her, that maybe she was his first girlfriend, and so on. I was so terribly ashamed of myself. Oh my god, I really am a horrible person.

I swallowed, staring at the side of my face, "I'm sorry..." I whispered.

"Aurora Vitelli, her name is Aurora Vitelli."

I could feel the love and respect he had for her just by the way he said her name. I hesitantly placed my hand over his resting on the table, I gave it a squeeze and saw as his eyes went to it.

He let me hold his hand for a few minutes before he shook it off and stood up, I stood up as well, "Lorenzo..."
