Lorenzo stumbled through the door, drenched in blood, I was used to his bloody appearance by now but today, there was something about his demeanor that was off.

He gave Evangeline a faint smile and then slowly shuffled his way into the bedroom. It had been over an hour since he went in, and he still hadn't come out. I couldn't help but wonder what he was up to.

I was desperately attempting to concentrate on what Bianca was saying, however, every couple of seconds I found my gaze shifting toward the bedroom door, I was anxious, wondering why he hadn't come out yet. It is not like him to ignore Evangeline's presence in his home—he cared for her too much.
