Chapter Sixty-Four

♕—Delilah

I slowly opened my eyes and saw him standing over me, watching me with furrowed eyebrows. He heaved a sigh and shook his head before moving out of the room.

I lay there, distressed and numb, for an eternity it felt like. My lifeless body felt like I had lost all the will to live.

One hour.

Two hours.

Three hours.

I finally got to my feet as I felt the need to use the bathroom. I stood up and the weight of the heavy iron ball finally settled on it. The chain was long, it's one end was perfectly secured on the wall beside the nightstand and the other end was welded onto the shackle on my ankle.

I dragged myself to the bathroom and the weight of the ball made it difficult and painful. I blinked away the tears, taking deep breaths in and out. All the hope to run far away from here and start a new life vanished like they were never there.

After I was done using the toilet, I washed my hands and made my way out of the bedroom. The chain was long enough for me to roam around

Those were orders. He didn't set out to kidnap her on his own, y'all read the story right? He was acting on orders, so going against the order of his family for her, and get betrayed in the end was a low blow. I feel for her, but she's selfish, her father was going to sell her to a monstrous man.
