Chapter 29

Her reply was a chuckle which annoyed me even more because I felt that she was mocking me- I know that she’s mocking me. She always does that.

“Ah, that.” She reacted as if she had no idea about it. “Took you long enough to notice it.” I frowned at her reaction.

Her arms slowly let go and crossed them in front of her chest. I sat up, willing to keep the distance.

“What do you mean?”

“I deposited it weeks ago, tesoro. Probably the moment I took you in. I usually pay my employees in advance.” She shrugs. “I thought for sure you have long noticed it and used it to pay your family’s bills.” She answered nonchalantly while I stared at her in shock.

I won’t deny. My heart literally jumped as she spoke those words.

“Why are you staring at me like that?”
