Chapter 9: Protection Under The Dragonetti Name

The door to my prison opens, and Dario steps inside. He looks over at the food tray, then at me before cocking his head towards the door.

“Come. Dante wants to see you,” he says and waits for me to stand up. I walk over to him, and he grabs me by the forearm again.

As we walk, I try to see if there is no way of escaping, but as far as I can tell this mansion was huge and felt more like a maze than a home. There’s no way out for now, so I stop looking around and follow Dario.

We come to a stop outside of a large oak door, and Dario knocks three times before we step inside what looked like a study or an office.

There were five people present already, four of them I already knew: Dante and Sienna, the middle brother Domenico and his traitor wife, Sylvana. The unknown man was tall, but muscular, with the same intense green eyes as Dario, black hair, and dressed immaculately given the time.
