Chapter 16: Sky - a serious talk
I needed to talk to Jax. Abigail was the only one that could give me the answers I wanted, and Jax was the only one that knew where she was being held.
As I walked over to the house, I tried to come up with what to tell Jax. He needed to understand how desperate I was to question Abigail. Jax had said that he would question her himself, but he wouldn’t know the right things to ask. I had been studying magic and spells for most of my life. He had only lived briefly in the witch village and wasn’t able to wield elemental magic.
I reached the back door and stopped for a moment, considering whether or not I should knock. Everyone always seemed to just walk inside. It surprised me that Jax never locked the house.

Sky’s reaction did not make any sense. She seemed terrified of me.The force field. Dammit, why did I bring her here?. The force field had stripped me of my glamour and showed her my true form. Mark walked all the way back to the cabin with me in his arms. His strength impressed me, as I wasn’t the lightest person.He placed me carefully on the bed, before giving me a kiss.“Just rest, I’m right outside if you need me.”Before he moved away from the bed, I grabbed his arm.“Please stay.”His eyes met mine.“Are you sure?
