Over the next few days Amber switches from herself to Stacey. She begins to remember some of the time's, she is Stacey. But doesn’t realise that she has changed personalities. She just thinks of them as memory lapses, that she then remembers some of. She is becoming stressed about it though, thinking she has an underlying mental problem. When she talks to her doctor, she asks her to go in and does some tests on her. The tests show that her memories are slowly coming back. She is told to not stress over it too much, as there is no health problems to worry about. Her doctor does ask her to keep a journal of the times, she can’t remember and to jot down when she does remember things and what they are. They go to watch the first ground breaking of the joint project. The first phase has been approved and they have started to prepare the ground for the foundation to be layed. Grant made sure to keep Amber next to him and hold her hand whenever possible. To let others know they wer
They spend the day, relaxing in Grants apartment. Both happy to stay at home as they both feel as though they have things to think about. When he’s walking her out of his apartment building, later that day to hail a cab for her. Amber pauses as a car break’s hard causing it to screech along the road out front. The sound causes Amber to relive the accident. As her head hits the car, she staggers back. Making Grant grab her around the waist to stop her from falling. As she remembers hitting the ground her hand goes up to her head and she feels the scar along her scalp. She looks at Grant wide eyed and her eyes roll back in her head as she passes out. She isn’t out long though. Just long enough for Grant to lower her to the floor and hold her to him. She blinks open her eyes “it was me, that was hit?” she questions, “Grant I want to go home, I need to talk to my mother?” she continues before he can say anything.“You aren’t feeling dizzy?” he asks her, she shakes her head no.
Amber arrives at the country clinic and shown to her room. Liz has explained to her on the trip up. That they will use some intense therapy, showing her pictures retelling stories that happened in the past. All to jog her memory. She has been warned that it can sometimes be very painful, but to imagine it as forcing a very rusty door open in your mind. Once it’s opened the pain has gone and the future is whole and open to you again.Images have been flashing in her mind but come so quickly she is unable to see them clearly, but with the images come different emotions. It is the emotions that linger far longer than the images. Liz has told her to just take it easy for the rest of the day getting to know her surroundings and settling into her room. She is allowed to do some off line work after breakfast for an hour. Then after that she will go to Liz before lunch, then break for lunch and then go to group therapy. Until mid-afternoon and then rest for an hour. They have dinner
It’s been six months since Grant and her mother have seen Stacey properly. They did go up for the open house day, two months ago. But it was too short and if anything, they just missed her more. The therapy was going well she was remembering more and more but she still referred to Stacey as the third person. Liz had explained that it was her last string to cut. She is apprehensive, so was finding it hard to let go of that final piece of Amber. They are together again, planning another video to send her. “We could do another baking video, let’s bake her some of the coconut squares that Stacey loved?” Grant suggests to her mother. They were sitting in the coffee shop near the entrance of her mother’s apartment. Grant had made the decision about four months ago to buy there too. He now lived in the third block of apartments, that was furthest away from the entrance of their gated community. But closer to the small lake, park and trails. He had become much closer to her mother
The day started like any other for Stacey Greenbank. Since starting a relationship with Grant Muster. On waking she'd send him a voice message saying good morning and that she will see him soon. She would then go wash and make them their packed lunch. She wasn't big on breakfast so often skipped it.She loved her job, helping to design and create new learning toys for children with disabilities. That is where she met Grant nearly two years ago now. It had been her second day there when he had literally knocked her to the ground by turning around quickly and knocking into her.He had apologised and held out his hand. It wasn't until she looked up into his clear light blue eyes that she had been struck at how handsome he was. Then she had realised he was holding a white cane and that he was blind or pratically sighted. That was the start of their relationship. Stacey had confessed to him three months later and they'd started to date.Stacey had loved the fact that he had wante
"Sweetheart, go back and check on him? I can see you are worried. I'm fine, in fact I'd like sometime on my own" her mother says sick of watching her daughter sit only to get up seconds later and start pacing again."Are you sure?" Stacey asks, at her mother’s nod though she kisses her mother on the head before she running up the stairs to her childhood room. She's back down in no time with a jacket and her bag "I'll be back later or early tomorrow. I’ve got my phone, call if you need me" she promises her mother as she kisses her cheek before heading out the door. Her mother breaths a sigh of relief, as she hopes Grant will be able to help her greave in a good way. Because at the moment she is like a zombie.Stacey’s trip back is a lot easier than the one going as she catches the train with no difficulties. She knocks on Grants apartment door, when he doesn't answer she keys in the code and enters. She finds him in his bedroom with his headphones on listening to something. He smi
Her mother covers her mouth with her hand and stares at the doctor wide eyed "Amber was the name of her twin sister. She died at the age of two from heart problems" she explains"I see, then that might explain what she said next" the doctor says"I asked her if she knew why she was in hospital? To which she answered that her sister had died in order for her to have her heart" Stacey's mother gasps on hearing this and her hand goes to cover her own heart."Why would she think that?" she asks"We heard that she was very upset when she ran out onto the road from her initial accident. It's my belief that she suffered a traumatic experience mentally before having one physically. We'll have to get a professional over to talk to her, to find out for sure" he tells her.He also recommends not saying to much about it until they've tested her more. Her mother goes back to Stacey’s room and feels like she is walking on eggshells as she doesn't know what is safe to talk about. When the Psychiatr
Amber nods towards them "Hello, nice to meet you" she says politely. "Amber? Amber Greenbank? Not Stacey Greenbank?" Grant asks her, Clive and his wife seem a little startled by him mentioning Stacey's name and move closer to Amber subconsciously."You knew my sister? I'm sorry she is no longer with us. She was in a fatal car accident some years ago" Amber explains"No longer here? She's dead? When did she die exactly?" Grant demands bit loudly."I was unwell at the time, but my mother said she died after coming to the city to visit an ungrateful man, just over 3 years ago, that might have caused her accident" Amber answers him.Grant goes pale and sits down heavily on a chair. Clive and his wife share a look and he shake’s his head a little so, she doesn’t say anything."Are you alright, Grant?" his friend Marcus asks him."Yes, but I don't feel too good so, if it's alright with you, I'd like to go home?" Grant asks"Of course, if you're not feeling well, then you must go home. A
