Chapter 7: I want your pheromones

During those two days, Calantha had to go through her most intense heat since her differentiation. Calantha is indeed a rare case of late differentiation. It wasn't until the summer of her freshman year of college that she differentiated into an omega. At that time, she knew that Stella Corporation recruited trainees every year, so she was determined not to re-register her gender. This was a unique opportunity, if she had missed it, she would have regretted it for the rest of her life.

By the morning of the third day, everything seemed to be back to normal, Calantha no longer felt uncomfortable. She injected all the suppressive drugs she had brought back from the hotel. On the first day it didn’t help anything but by the second day, it helped her to regain her sanity. Calantha was no longer a conscious female beast that rolled around the room and tried to satisfy herself with her instincts. Calantha's previous heats were all very gentle, she just needed to lock herself in her room and fall asleep in bed. But this time, she didn't know what crazy things she had done. When she regained consciousness, her whole body was covered with small wounds.

In that early morning, she received a phone call from secretary Merimee. In the afternoon, an expensive car stopped in front of Calantha's apartment building. The person who came to pick her up was secretary Merimee. This was the one who witnessed everything, so Calantha was embarrassed when she had to face him.

Jim gently comforted the nervous girl beside him, "Don't worry, Anne, Mr. Hofsess is not a difficult person to approach."

It's a lie. Jim thought to himself, but on the outside he was still naturally gentle. If Mr. Hofsess was not difficult to please, then who was difficult to please? The devil specialized in oppressing employees.

As if Jim's consolation worked, Calantha calmed down, she tried to pull the corner of her mouth to give the friendly secretary a smile, "Thank you."

The car headed towards the city center, where the Stella Corporation building is located. Jim led Calantha up the elevator to the top floor, where Marcus and his secretariat worked. There was a private elevator that led straight up. This was the first time Calantha went this way. Everyone in the lobby was very professional, but no one looked in Calantha's direction. Anyway, it was normal for Secretary Merimee to lead people upstairs.

The two walked up to a large wooden door, Jim smiled and held out his hand in an inviting gesture, "This is Mr. Hofsess's office. Come in."

Calantha looked at Jim for a moment, then took a deep breath, she tapped lightly on the wooden door. There was no sound from inside, she turned to look at the person next to her. Jim understood, then he helped her open the door. At that moment, Calantha was forced to face her inner alpha, she tried to calm down, and stepped in. Once they were inside, the door was closed.

The room was really spacious. All the space here was bigger than the dilapidated room she and Mary shared. The room was big but only had a desk, a sofa and a large bookcase. Painted white walls made the space even colder. Calantha didn't have time to look, she looked straight at the person who was sitting and busy working. She tried to call the alpha's attention, but she couldn't make a sound. Although the room was very large, the pheromones spread everywhere. Calantha felt like she was lost in a cloud, her whole body relaxed.

She didn't know what to do, so she crept up to sit on the sofa, and she waited. Her eyes couldn't leave Marcus, the look of his concentration at work was captivating. Marcus finished signing a document, put down his pen, and looked over at Omega. When that person had just got out of the elevator, he felt it, although the pheromones were very faint.

He got up and walked over to the sofa, sat down across from the omega, his eyes like lasers which stared intently at the person in front of him. Marcus' gaze made Calantha nervous. She stood still and looked down, she did not dare to look straight.

Marcus broke the silence, “I have an investigation on you. You didn't do anything illegal but hiding your true gender in Stella, that was not acceptable. You will quit your job.”

Calantha was scared, she tried to beg, "Mr Hofsess, this is all my fault, but I promise I will not affect the corporation at all.”

If she got fired, it would have been all over, not simply an internship with a desirable salary. Her school was a top university that wouldn’t take any risks. She had been an intern at Stella for many months. If she got fired, she would have to find another place to practice. The time was not enough, she would definitely fail and have to study again. Her economic ability did not allow it. Along with her grandmother's illness, her medicine and hospital bills consumed all of her income. She wanted to earn as much money as possible so that her grandma could get early treatment. It could be said that if she was kicked out of Stella, Calantha's future would be over. She had to drop out of school to work to earn money to treat her grandmother.

Marcus started to talk about the reason why Omega wasn’t accepted for this job,“Omega in heat is uncontrollable, no matter how careful you are, there will still be mistakes. Wasn't that banquet the best proof? I don't expect Anne to have a heat period at this company. There are a lot of alphas here, they will lose control, then they will do some actions which no one can predict."

Calantha knew what Marcus said was the truth. Her eyes were red, her head lowered like an animal that was abandoned by its owner, pitiful and helpless. She made others want to use all their strength to protect.

At this point, the time had come, and Marcus was quick to ask, “I can let you stay at the corporation to continue working, but I need you to make some sacrifices. I don't know if you will accept it?"

Calantha widened her eyes, looked straight at Marcus, as if she had catched one last lifeline, and without thinking, she said hastily, "I can do it."

At that moment, Calantha also defied everything, not only for her own future, but also for her hospitalized grandmother. The salary of interns at Stella was much higher than the average salary of long-term permanent employees elsewhere. The most precious thing was the medical care service for employees and their families. If someone had not worked at Stella Corporation, wanting to go to a nursing home to get treatment would have been as difficult as going to heaven. Her grandmother desperately needed to be there. Only there was a chance to treat her grandma with the money she could earn.

Marcus just waited for her affirmative answer, he said something that Calantha couldn't believe.

“I want your pheromones.”
