Chapter 48. Only Gratitude?

Leonardo's POV.

I watched his face break into a smile as Zavi reached him. Nodding at me in curtsy he stepped away as Zavi stepped out and the door closed behind them.

The next instant I got up and in a few limps was at the door and cracked in open slightly.

"So Zavi huh?" I heard the blasted man ask and though I could not see Zavi's face I wish I could hear her answer his query.

But she kept quiet and walked with him.

"You like him don't you?" the man asked and I felt myself holding my breath.

For the first time in my life I was eavesdropping and had no guilt in continuing so.

"You are mad Sam. He is my employer. I have told you how much he has done for my mother. What I have for him is gratitude."

Somehow her saying this to the doctor made my heart ache. Was it so difficult to like me?

Was gratitude all that I could get?
