Chapter 55. Afterlife?

Saira's POV.

I awoke to paws prodding on my chest. I could hear a voice in the distant muttering some chants. Is this  how everyone feels after death.

I am dead, right? Do wild animals handle us in afterlife? Perhaps they are creatures for specific purpose?

This must be a transit booth or something. I need to see. Why do my eyelids feel so heavy? Where are the rest of my body parts.

I felt a  jerk and salty water hit my tongue as it rose from inside me and I coughed it out of my mouth.

I choked as some of it came out of my nose.

Was I at the bottom of a deep pit? How did I fall inside a pi
