Chapter 0008

Sarah

I had my bags packed and arranged by the door. It was a small assembly of suitcases, mostly boasting of my multiple gym wear and fighting gear.

After my ordeal with the miscarriage, I had learnt to treat my body as a temple. Though, going to the gym helped me focus, its main reason was to release some of the rage buried within me.

“Ms Sarah, the driver has arrived,” Valeria called from behind the door, her face flushed from the cold.

“I'm all set,” I motioned to the suitcases as I walked past her. “Tell them to be careful with my boxes. I've some valuables stored in them.”

The wind outside was bitterly cold. I hugged my coat tighter around my body as I walked towards the black sedan parked by the side of the road.

It was in moments like this that the feeling of emptiness washed over me. It's been years and my wolf has been lost to me. Nothing seemed to work.
