My breathing hitched at his statement.

“What has the blood moon got to do with Sarah?” I grabbed his hand, stopping him in his tracks. “What are you keeping from me?”

He turned swiftly to me, his gaze burning red, weakening my wolf. I whined and my grip around his hand loosened.

“You know better, Ryder,” he spoke calmly, resuming his walk like nothing happened.

“I'm sorry,” I whimpered, the aftermath of his gaze still disturbed my wolf energy. “I'm just desperate and feeling lost. The thought of Sarah by herself scares the living daylights out of me.”

He turned around. His face softened at the anguish, evident on my face. “All you need to know is Sarah is in dire danger. When the blood moon comes up, her life would be cut short if she isn't found.”

He patted my shoulder. “Conserve your energy, son. You'll need it and she needs you. Wait here. I'll summon the council and find out what we can about his whereabouts. Make yourself at home and don't wear my floor with yo
