Sarah

I stood there, hardly moving, barely breathing and my heart beating painfully against my chest. The shock left me so dizzy as I stared at the object of my discomfort.

I could hear my mother talking but couldn't make sense of what she was talking about.

I lost track of time as we stood there, staring at each other. Her face looked the same, just like the last time I had seen her, except for the wrinkles around her eyes and forehead.

This was a dream…It can't be real, I told myself. But I knew I wasn't dreaming because I couldn't stop the invisible string that pulled me towards this woman…towards my mother.

She was mumbling as she took two giant steps towards me and covered the distance between us. I felt her hands wrap themselves around my neck and her body pressed closely to my cold body.

“Erielse…erielse…” she muttered as she held me close, suffocating me in her scent. “You're grown now, Sarah.”

What in the name of the goddess was happening? Where had she come from?
