"After he left, I locked the bedroom door, spread the baby clothes and birth control pills around me on the mattress, and looked at each item for long minutes. Abortion was not an option. I felt a shiver run down my spine just thinking about it. Giving my child to Gael was also out of the question, even though I know his financial status is much more favorable than mine concerning our child. However, either this would be our baby, or it would definitively be just mine. To top it off, giving up everything I've achieved at the finish line will leave me in misery again, and damn it, there's still my mother who needs me a lot!

Distressed by these thoughts, I leaped out of bed, turned my back on all of that, and leaned against the window frame.
