Chapter 4

"There are a few more rules I want you to know," Nathan dropped his hand and raised his eyebrows.

"Rules?"

"Yes," leaned against the black leather chair, "I'm not allowed to go to my room; I don't move my things, I don't dirty my studio, and the elements of the rooms can't be changed. Is that clear?"

She was stunned. "What was I supposed to do? Should I stay in a corner for a year?"

"I understand" Valentina nodded in complete shock.

"Valentina, be more careful with the deals you make. You've married a lunatic."

Nathan observed the disgusted expression on his face; she must probably be insulting him inwardly. I gave you this set of rules because there's no need for you both to make this a real home. Your contract has a deadline. You shouldn't risk getting it wrong.

"Do you have anything to say?"

"No, nothing at all" She shook her head.

"Who dares question her? If she does, then she must be crazy."

I walked to the living room, sat cross-legged on the couch, turned on the TV, and relaxed to watch his variety show. Nathan nodded satisfactorily, turned, and waved to signal Valentina to come out. She exhaled the air she had been holding and came out slowly.  , sat

"Ha ha ha" Valentina was so immersed in the TV show that she didn't realize her laugh was strident. "Ha ha ha."

It might be too much fun; she almost forgot she's in the same house as her boss.

"Can you turn off that damn TV?!" Nathan came out of the studio with an annoying expression. "From now on, when I work, you will not be allowed to watch TV or make any noise."

"What?" She dropped the sandwich she was holding; it took her a long time to process her words, "Okay."

Nathan's angry eyes glared at Valentina; she turned around and slammed the door shut to re-enter the studio.

Valentina patted her fast heart and tiptoed back to her room.

"God, what did I do?"

"This man, he's really scary. Who's bothered by a fucking TV?"

Valentina couldn't help but worry about his future. "If this made him angry. What else could she do that I managed to piss him off?"

Thinking about this, he ran out of bed and took out the contract.  It is written clearly and simply that if Part B breaches the contract, the liquidated damages will be double all fees paid by Part A to Part B.

"Damn it! I'm fucked."

"Demons!" She dropped into bed, throwing curses.

"He's so cruel! No wonder he's the president! But I can't take it back now; I've sold out. Just pretend, give her your smiling face, and you'll help your mother with her treatment."

Valentina looked up at the ceiling and sighed; nothing worth complaining about now. "You can't pick up the spilled milk."

With that thought, she fell asleep.

Nathan, working late into the night, headed to the kitchen to make a cup of coffee once he finished.

As he passed through the silent bedroom, he saw a small trace of light through the Gate; a dim light was coming from her.

"Valentina?" he asked as he stood at the door holding a cup of coffee.

There was no response.

"Are you asleep?" Nathan looked at his watch; it was just after one in the morning.

I gently push the door to take a look.

The only feature of Valentina's bedroom is its simplicity; looking towards the bed, Nathan almost spits a sip of coffee in his mouth.

Valentina slept, was unevenly shaped on the bed, with a piece of paper in her hand, half of her leg hung from the edge of the bed, her pajamas climbed, leaving visible some turned and slender legs, her long blonde hair concealed her face on the pillow.

His body reacted.

I hastily put out the light and closed the door, puzzled by this scene. I did not understand his body's reactions, and much less that big tent that had formed in his crotch.

He has seen many women, but none made his body react that way. On the other hand, he feels fortunate and proud of his decision.

She is the right woman, neither annoying nor unpleasant, not clingy and capable.  This is your ideal wife, a good wife who won't cause you any trouble.

Sipping coffee, he quickly walked back to his room.

The first ray of sunshine in the morning shone in the room. Valentina walked to brush her teeth with sleepy eyes.

Nathan came back from the energetic morning exercises.

“Good morning” as soon as Nathan entered the kitchen, he greeted Valentina.

She yawned and said vaguely, "Good morning."

"Prepare breakfast and call me when ready" I was sweaty after a round of exercise and walked to the bathroom with a towel.

"Ah?" Valentina was half asleep. She didn't hear what Nathan said, walking to his bathroom carelessly. He brushed his teeth, washed his face, and took a refreshing shower. Then he changed his clothes and put on subtle makeup.

"Perfect!" he smiled confidently in the mirror, exited the bedroom towards the door, took the knob, and was about to open it to leave.

"And my breakfast?" Nathan asked behind her.

"Huh? Breakfast?" Valentina looked at him, confused about which breakfast.

He stared at her with his face darkened.

"What... What's up?" the frightened girl stuttered, to say nothing of the low air pressure around Nathan.

"What's up?" Nathan twisted his lips and said, "Where's my breakfast?"

Valentina's eyes widened, blinked, and quickly repeated, "breakfast? Which Breakfast? I haven't had breakfast yet! I don't know anything about your breakfast!"

Nathan choked on his anger. "Is it possible he was mistaken?"

I took a deep breath to calm her disgust, and she massaged her temples, looking for less hurtful words.

"Why isn't it in the contract? Valentina, you did it deliberately, right? Are you mad at me? Okay, okay!"

After saying that, he picked up the suit jacket on the couch and closed the door in Valentina's face.

"What the hell just happened?"

Valentina was bewildered; she stood still, only to hear the door knock close; suddenly, the words appeared in her mind.

"Make breakfast and call me."

"God!" She remembered the words Nathan had said to her earlier and instantly scolded herself.

"It's over. It's over."

She ran off, chasing Nathan, holding her purse.

"President! President!"

When he left the apartment, Nathan's car had just started.

Ignoring the screams of the person behind him, Nathan snorted coldly, sitting in the car and leaving Valentina far behind.

"Shit, shit!" he grunted, running out of the residential complex to take a taxi.  Luckily, he was lucky, so he stopped a taxi immediately and told him the address.

"Mercer Group, please."

She regrets her stupidity and blames herself. Everything was going well and now caused trouble on the first day of her fake marriage, but marriage.

"Here we are, miss."

"How much is the fee?"

"Twenty pounds."

"Oh, thank you, sir" I took out a twenty-pound note, and his heart was bleeding. Normally, take the bus and two pounds is enough, but today it costs ten times.

"Life is so cruel, so cruel..."

Valentina got out of the taxi and ran to the cafeteria on the corner to buy breakfast.

"Girl, you're early today." The old lady who sells inside, I greet her kindly.

"It's still four pounds?   Valentina smiled awkwardly, today, I took a taxi, so I arrived faster, Grandma.

“Today, I will ask for two services.”

“Ha, ha, ha, good.”

“Thank you” Valentina took the paper bags and rushed to the company.

“Manager Miller.”

“Hello,” When meeting the employees on the way, everyone greeted her warmly.

“Manager Miller, congratulations” Another employee smiled at him.

“Eh?” Valentina wondered because they congratulated her, and I walked hastily.

Right now, the priority is to comfort President Mercer’s fragile spirit.
