A Piece Of Dry Bread

Jiang Xiuying noticed a car parked in from of the hospital with a number plate that had the blue logo of the Lu Family. She knew at once that the car was there to pick her up. She got into the car and it zoomed off.

Jiang Xiuying looked at the familiar residence of the Lumber family. With a smile on her face, she entered the large house.

" Young Miss " All of the maids she passed by respectfully greeted her which she only returned with a slight nod.

She walked into her room and closed the door with a loud bang. All of the Children and grandchildren of Chairman Lu had a room that belonged to each of them. Jiang Xiuying was very tired and feeling jet lagged. She hurriedly took off her clothes and took a quick bath. She didn't know what Chairman Lu needed her for and she must be quick since his flight was in an hour time. She already spent an hour on the road.

Jiang Xiuying settled on a black gown that flowed freely from her waist to down to her ankle. She tied her hair up in a tight bun. After rehearsing her smile couple of times in the mirror and finally choosing a suitable one, she left her room and went to Chairman Lu study – a place he spends most of his time at going through some documents or practicing calligraphy.

Jiang Xiuying approached the door of the study and was about to knock when she felt a tap on her shoulder.

" Assistant Ye..." She greeted with her rehearsed smile when she saw who it was.

" Young Miss, Chairman Lu schedule changed at the last minute and his flight was booked to an hour earlier than before. He would be back in the next three days so feel free to wait for him if you don't mind " Ye Xiao politely told her.

Jiang Xiuying nodded in understanding. She didn't have a choice than to wait for Chairman Lu 's return.

" Where is Uncle and Aunty? " Jiang Xiuying asked. She had just remembered that she didn't sight them when she entered the house. Lu Changhong and Zhao Xing'er were Lu Beichen's parent. They lived in the Old Lu Residence along with Chairman Lu to keep his company.

" They went on a vacation to Maldives. " Ye Xiao briefly replied and walked past her. Sometimes, Jiang Xiuying gets jealous of the Lu Family. Lu Changhong and Zhao Xing'er were still in the honeymoon stage after years of marriage.

Jiang Xiuying felt her body growing uncomfortable. It was as if she was breathing fire as her breath was getting hot every single step she took towards the living room. When she finally managed to get to the living room, a maid approached her with her head shyly lowered down. The maid's ear already turned red thinking about how beautiful Jiang Xiuying is. She had the maid questioning her sexual orientation.

If Jiang Xiuying knew what was going on in the maid's head, she would have puked ten gallons of blood.

" Young Miss....Please follow me to the dining hall. Your food is ready" The little made informed her. She tried her best not to trip on her words.

Jiang Xiuying wanted to protest but when she saw the red ear of the maid, she thought it was out of fright so she decided to follow her.

" What's your name? "

" Huh? Young Miss I'm Midori "

" Miss... I have specially prepared this feast for your welcome party " The Chef announced in a bright voice as he stretched his hand showing the different types of dishes spread out on the table.

Jiang Xiuying sat down alone in the dining hall that seemed too big. It was as if it was here first time noticing how big the dining hall was which she found annoying since she was the only one seating there.

She tasted the food the Chef prepared but they all had the same taste – They all tasted like a piece of dry bread in her mouth. She knew forcing herself to eat the food would make her feel nauseated. Jiang Xiuying quietly made her way out of the dining hall without alerting the maid stationed at the far end of the hall.

Jiang Xiuying closed the door of her room and sat down on her bed leaning her body on the headboard with her eyes staring directly at a picture hung on the wall opposite her bed.

= Flashback begins=

One of the empty rooms in Lu Residence has been converted to a mini studio since Yutong insisted that she wanted to learn how to dance. As the only female great granddaughter of Chairman Lu, her request was immediately granted.

" Yuxuan, I already have a studio to myself to practice how to dance. Very soon I would be able to dance like Ariel from The Little Mermaid " Yutong bragged her blue eyes twinkling in excitement. Her wish had always been to be be a Disney Princess.

Yuxuan looked at Yutong and shook his head. " You are round just like a football how could you possibly know how to dance. "

" Humph...." Yutong folded her arm and angrily left their room to meet her dearest uncle. She felt very bad being called round but it was the truth and nothing could be done. Yuxuan just loved annoying his sister. He had once told his mother that giving birth to Yutong first was a mistake since she behaved and looked more like his younger sister.

" Uncle Chen...." Yutong approached Lu Beichen with her pitiful face. " My dearest daughter....Why are you looking sad? " He picked her up and threw her in hair earning a squeal of delight from her.

He led her to the sofa and placed her round body on his leg.

" Uncle Chen, I want to dance tomorrow" Yutong said with a serious face. She badly wanted to prove to Yuxuan that she was able to dance.

" Okay.... I will arrange for it. My little princess will dance tomorrow " Lu Beichen smiled at her. She was too beautiful to be ignored. Yutong was very satisfied with his reply. She knew that her Uncle can never refuse what ever she tells him. She sighted Yuxuan on the stairs with a brooding face. She stuck out her tongue at him mischievously.

" Uncle Chen....I want some cookies " She requested still looking at Yuxuan. Yuxuan could only shake his head and walk back to his room.

' How will you grow tall if you keep on eating and growing rounder? ' Yuxuan wondered.
