100. What happened?.
The next day, I thought Martin would be happy..... glowing but his face was gloomy and lost. He thought he was covering up but his eyes never lie to me. The work was hectic so I halted that.
In the afternoon the meeting was held and the sales department explained about their new perfume. It does sound good. Evelyn seemed interested in the meeting. She expressed her opinions and asked the doubts she got.
"So, that's all about our new perfume." The sales manager ended the presentation with that quote."I'm expecting a new idea for the ad shoot in the next meeting." Mr. Brown added. He came to the meeting even though he was of no use."Sure. My team will be on it, Mr. Brown." I said with a smile covering my pissed look.The thing that made me piss about him is not his unnecessary presence it's his unnecessary flirting with Evelyn. God damn it, she's my fucking wife you idiot.

"You slept on the couch without a blanket. What if you got sick?" Martin said the moment I opened my eyes."Stop whining. It's my day off. What time is it?" I asked while sitting up."Around 8. Go and fresh up. I made breakfast." He said before walking inside the kitchen. I stayed there for a while holding my head as the last night's words flashed in front of me."Your coffee." I heard Martin's tone. I raised my head and saw him holding a cup of coffee in front of me."Thanks," I said and took the coffee cup."Headache?" He asked."Hangover," I replied and took a sip."Why did you drink another bottle then?." He asked while looking at the whiskey bottles in front of me on the coffee table."I was tired. So, I drank to relax." I replied in a low tone with a groan."The lie doesn't suit you. You were thinking about the conversation we had didn't you?" He asked."

"If that was true. Why are you crying for him?. You believe you don't have feelings for him?." I asked. He opened his mouth to say something but I stopped him."You can deny to me, but all I want is to stay true to yourself," I said as I stood up."Let's go home. I have to pick my stupid wife." I said as I extended my hand. He grabbed my hand and stood up. He drove me to the Lawrenson mansion but stopped the car at the front gate."You are this scared of seeing him?" I asked with a smile."Seeing me only ends up making things worse." He replied with a low tone while looking at the mansion."For you or for him?" I asked while raising my eyebrow."...For him." He replied with a small tone."I hope you find the truth soon," I said before I got out of the car."What truth?" He asked as he leaned to see my face."You'll find it... soon." I smiled before leaving the place.

The next day, I woke up with joy that I would get a call from Ralph telling me what happened at dinner. Did he confess.... or at least kissed? But there was nothing.'He must be busy with his work.' I thought before heading into the gym.I did my workout and got ready for the tiring and soul-piercing work. I had breakfast and hopped into the car. Martin seemed unusually silent, today. He at least greets me. As I was thinking the same, Martin turned towards me and greeted me. He's acting weird.The afternoon came and the meeting was held. All the time the meeting happened, I found myself getting constantly stared at two people. One.... is my asshole husband Adam who seemed to be surprised as he saw me showing interest in my job and the second...Mr. Brown.My skin was crawling as I saw his stares. The next morning, I had breakfast with mum and dad and I really wanted to meet Ralph. I was trying till later afternoon but this idiot isn't responding to any of this. I'm really angry with him now. Gosh, why is he behaving like this?. I have a plan to talk to him if he can't answer my calls. I threw my phone on the bed and walked downstairs. I was spent some time with my parents and was about to implement my plan when mum called me. "Eve. Didn't you want to meet Ralph today?" Great timing mum. She helped me a lot. Thanks for the hint. "Yeah. Can you prepare the carriage?." I asked. "I'll make it in 10 minutes." She said while standing up. It's already lunchtime so I thought of having lunch with Ralph. "Mum, can you make it two?. I'll have lunch with Ralph." I asked and she nodded her head before leaving the living room. I pretended to look for my phone and finally stopped. "Dad, I think I forgot my phone upstairs.

"Why didn't you stop him?. Ralph no one can love Martin the way you do. Your love's true, why didn't you stop him?" I asked the same question over and over. "I couldn't. I will give him only pain if I stop him. You saw me suffering from my first love..... and he's still suffering. How can I ask him to let go and love me when he's first didn't die in his heart?" He asked. "Wise words from a wise man. I wish, Martin understood you more." I said with a soft tone. "He understood me enough, to take care of me. He never told me to stop loving and I won't even if he asks." He replied while fidgeting his hands. "One side love leaves pain. I never thought Martin is this selfish. After a few minutes, I got a call from Celine. "You took time," I said as soon as I answered the call. "Come on. The makeup was too heavy, I called as soon as I finished." She whined. "Fine. Listen, I met Ralph an hour ago." I said and she sighed. "Did you ask him what happened?. What was going on with him?" She said with a worried tone. "It's....." I started and explained everything. "Oh my. I never thought Martin to be like this." She said the same thing as me. "Me too. Let's see what Adam says. I guess that bastard takes his friend's side. But I'm really confused about their relationship." I said with a confused tone. "What do you mean?" She asked when I heard the cutlery sound. "When we first met, Adam introduced me to Martin as his friend. But back in the office when we were at the meeting with Mr. Brown he introduced Martin as Martin Harrison the other heir of Harrison's family. Doesn't it sound different?

He finished talking and we walked back to his cabin. I followed him slowly but carefully and saw him sighing and as soon as he sat back on his chair. I watched him through the glass door as he ran his palm all over his face to clear his mind. His mood changed to gloomy within seconds.What is he an actor to change his emotions?. I guess. As I watched, his gaze shifted from the computer screen to the photo frame. He halted his work and started watching it with an emotionless face. He slowly grabbed the photo frame and ran his hand through the photo in it giving a faded smile."Was he his first love?." I muttered.His face gave away emotions that showed distress and suffering. A tear ran down from one of his eyes. I was taken back, he really is suffering.I knocked on the door and he quickly wiped his face with his fingers to remove the tears that didn't seem to stop. "Come in." He said after clearing his throat. I opened the door and his face plastered the smile.

"Why love him even after years?. Didn't seeing that make your heartbreak?. Seeing him with other woman, leading a happy married life and soon becoming a parent?" I asked with a worried tone. I thought it was Ralph and only Ralph who was suffering but it's been Martin along with Ralph too. "No." He said softly."He's been through a lot. Suffered enough.
