14. Part -1: The haunting memories of past.

I couldn't sleep. Everything Martin said was reminding of mum, the flashbacks of the time I spent with her were flashing in front of my eyes every time I close my eyes. I still remember her warm smile and the safe feeling I get when I'm in her arms. It reminded me of the incident of my school year, on mum's birthday.

Flashback:

I was in middle school and it was mum's birthday and dad couldn't make it. He went to Wales for a business meeting and made a promise that he will be back by the day of mum' birthday. But like always he broke the promise.

"Dad, you were supposed to be at home by midnight. You promised me." I said on the phone.

"I know, son. I'm sorry, the meeting was postponed. I talked to your mum about this, she wasn't angry about it. I'll make it up next time." Dad apologized. But he didn't sound sincere like always.<
