Scarlet has finally discovered the woman behind Ethan's recent change of behavior. Let's see what she will do afterward. Please, keep voting. Your comments and reviews will be highly appreciated. Thank you, lovely readers.
Aviana walked inside the CEO's office, as usual. She held a document in her hands, as she stepped forward. The document entailed detailed information about the CEO's work schedule. And, as his PA, it was her responsibility to report to him every morning on the activities that he needed to carry out on the fateful day. She said sternly, "Sir, the board members would arrive in fifteen minutes from now. After, you are required to visit the construction site. Also, their is a contract from the Westerni that needs your signature. That is all for today, Sir." Her tone was so serious, no one born of a woman would suspect they had a thing together. Ethan, on the other hand, sat leisurely on his desk, while he sipped his coffee and just stared at her without blinking. "Could you repeat what you've just said. I didn't hear just now," Ethan said casually, while he continued to stare at her. Aviana frowned. "What? Weren't you listening at all?" "I was listening, of course. I was just not
"Who's it?" he asked in a hoarse voice. "Brother, are you in there? Could you open the door, please?" Scarlet's voice came along. When Aviana heard Scarlet's voice, she cowered in Ethan's arms. "It's scarlet. What do we do, now!" she asked in a panicked voice. "I told you we shouldn't do this in your office! Because, I knew Scarlet would definitely show up! Now, she is outside the door! What to do! What to do, Ethan!" she asked as she broke out in a cold sweat. "Calm down, will you?" he laughed lightly, seeing how terrified his woman seemed. "Ca-calm down? Are you serious? Your sister is outside your door?" she almost raised her voice, but she remembered scarlet was outside, so she lowered her voice immediately. "God, if you save my face today, I promise this will never happen again," she murmured a silent prayer. Of course Ethan heard it. And, he laughed. "Are you so sure about that! I wouldn't make such a promise if I were you! Because, I'm definite it will happen again!"
"Why are you here, again? Don't you have any useful thing to do with your life instead of showing up at the office especially at the wrong time?" Ethan asked, deadpan. He didn't hide the fact that he was pretty much annoyed when she suddenly showed up and disrupted such a good time he was having inside. Hearing his question, Scarlet was jolted back from her line of thoughts and back to planet earth. With total dejection, she replied, "Ethan, is it now a bad thing to visit my blood brother in his office and find out how he's doing?" But, she wasn't annoyed at all, in fact she enjoyed seeing how annoyed her brother seemed simply because she had disrupted whatever that was going on inside the office. "You've seen me, I'm doing fine. Could you leave now. I was actually in the middle of something important, I would appreciate it if you left immediately, so that I can go back to it," he said sternly and he left no room for her to refute. "Okay, okay, I'll leave," she said simply, while
Aviana peeked through the partially opened door. "Can I get you a drink? Maybe water or coffee?"Scarlet smiled as she spoke, "No, I'm good.""Okay, I'll leave now, the meeting is about to start anyway," Aviana sighed. Then, she closed the door and walked away afterwards. However, she halted in her steps the next moment. She contemplated for a while before she finally turned around and walked back. She held the doorknob and clicked the door open. Peeking through the partially opened door for the second time, Aviana asked, "Are you sure you still want to sit here all alone and wait for me? Why don't you go home and come back some other time when I'm not all tied up with work? The meeting might take longer, you know?" Scarlet stood up from the chair and walked towards her. "We are friends, right?" she asked her as soon as she reached the door where Aviana stood. Aviana simply nodded her head in response to her question. "I wanted to have a quiet time with you and if possible have a fr
Scarlet walked back afterwards and took her sit at the table. Taking a sip of her hot coffee, she checked on the time on her phone once again and sighed deeply. She had been keeping watch of time, one hour and thirty minutes had already passed by since they left for the meeting. The meeting was taking much longer time than she had anticipated. She took another sip. And another. Soon, she were done with the coffee and the cup was empty. Lucky for her, the lady brought a flask, so she poured the coffee into the empty cup. She took another sip. She went on with the rhythm of pouring coffee into the cup, sipping it, until she were running out of coffee. When she were remaining with only a cup of coffee, she began to sip it slowly while she played with her phone. That way, she would keep herself busy and she would not get bored. After a while, she got bored playing with her phone. So, she took some papers that were placed on the table and began to make paper airplane with them. She made
Meanwhile, inside the meeting room, a heavy discussion was going on between Ethan and the board members. Ethan casually sat on his chair while he flipped the pen in his hand and listened carefully to whatever that was being said by the board members. Aviana, on the other hand, took minutes of the meeting, as it was her responsibility while still paying attention to their discussion. After a while, Ethan sat up straight on his chair, changing from his earlier posture, maybe because he had grown tired after sitting in the same position for an hour and more. He leaned forward and placed his arms on the table. He said indifferently, "Building a hotel? I do not think that's a good idea. You can do better than that, of course. Have you considered the many hotels we have in the city, have you thought about the competition that we are likely to face? What about the benefits the company would get from this project, if there would be any, the risks and all? It's a NO, for me. I need you to co
Ethan didn't say anything for a while, his eyes never leaving hers. Total silence reigned in the room, as everyone eagerly waited for his response. Aviana sighed deeply, she was wise enough to know his silence was his response. And, it was not just Aviana, the members harbored the same thought. When his silence was too much and everyone took his silence for his rejection, Ethan smiled slightly before he began to suddenly clap his hands, surprising everyone. "Excellent! Excellent! Excellent!" he said the same word three times. "That is….that is a pretty good idea, Miss Cole! Tell me, have you done this before! Have you told this idea to other companies!" he asked while he leaned forward and held his hands together, looking at her meaningfuly. Aviana simply shook her head. "Good. It should remain that way, then," he added. Then, he turned to the members, "What do you think about her idea. Isn't it the best." "Y-yes," the old member, Mr Gradgrind, stuttered. Shock! Surprise! were wr
Meanwhile, Scarlet was still talking on her phone when Aviana walked into the office. "Lily, can I call you back? I need to attend to something important, first," she requested. "Okay, bye," she nodded and kept the call afterwards. Then, she walked to Aviana who had just walked in and was standing at the door. "Do all meetings take this long? It's been two hours already," she complained as she stood next to her. "No, just this one. But I told you earlier, didn't I?" Aviana replied and walked to her desk. Scarlet followed her. And they both took a seat, with Aviana seated at her usual spot while Scarlet sat on the other side of the desk. Placing the document that she was holding on the desk, Aviana said dryly,"I'm here now. So, tell me. What did you wanna talk about." She leaned back in her chair and looked up at her. "Well, nothing in particular. It's been long since we last spoke at your brother's birthday party. I do not have anything doing at home so I thought maybe I shou
