Chapter 168

Sophia awoke to finding herself in a hospital. She was strapped in with so many needles and could hear nothing but the beeping of the machine beside her. Seated next to her was William. He had bent his head over her feet, he was asleep.

Sophia took a moment to look around. Her hospital room looked like a five star luxurious hotel. It would have been an enjoyable escape from William if he wasn't already beside her. She tried to adjust herself in the bed when she mistakenly awoke William.

"You're up" he said to her in a dry voice. He stretched his body, frowning his face as though his limbs had hurt him. "At least you're alive"

His words didn't make much sense to Sophia until she looked down at her stomach. She immediately realized the pain she was feeling from it, "William.. "

She looked back up at him. "What happened to my baby?"

"Your foolishness caused it. You tried to run from me, don't you remember? You should be grateful, I didn't shoot you in the head. Pathetic wench" William r
