He applied a break with my scream and the car came to a halt just a hair's distance from the tree.

For a moment, I thought that we were actually going to lose our lives.

Everything happened so quickly that time seemed to stand still as we sat there, stunned and unable to fully grasp the reality of what had just occurred. The weight of the situation began to sink in, and it took me a moment to collect my thoughts and understand just how narrowly we had escaped danger. My heart raced, pounding fiercely in my chest, its beats reverberating loudly in my ears, making it challenging to process the enormity of the situation.
