Chapter Fourty-One

Karen's POV

Mom chuckled refusing to believe me. "That's not your husband, you're not a professional liar." She remarked with a grin on her face.

Needed to put some distance between us, I moved towards the window. "Brody Taylor is my husband and that's the man you just met." I told her this time with seriousness on my face.

"Then, what's wrong?" She quickly asked.

I shrugged, feeling both awful and stable. "I don't know. I'm deeply in love with him but I don't know if he feels that way."

Turning to look at her, she arched an eyebrow in surprise. "What?" 

"I don't know if he loves me."

"He won't be here in Los Angeles if he doesn't love you." She reminded me.

"And what if he's just here to cancel the expired contract and finally divorce me."

She stood looking aghast. "I don't think he wants to do so. If you're in love with him, you'll tell him the truth."

I narrowed my eyes at her. Brody would get angry for lying to him if I told him the truth. "It'
