New York at night was so beautiful. The streets were crowded even at this hour. The number of fashion I've seen people adorn here is so astonishing. Though as I was enjoying the view someone else was just granting, growling and sighing besides me. He'd been off and on the phone countless times for the past thirty minutes. Now his glaring at the red light like he'd just murder it there and then. It was ten in the evening, we got here at nine and have been stack in the car since. "Herman?" "Hmmm", he harmed his reply." Can we get some food? I'm still kinda hungry", I told him. No answer, sigh. His probably considering me equivalent to a pig right now. What? I love food. And I didn't get to finish my breakfast because of his idiot brother. Though, Dante was only trying to help me out and look what making Herman jealous led to. He should be feeling proud of himself now. Folding my arms over my chest, I sank into my seat with a long sigh. Herman is a hard man to deal with. He acts like
A blinding lite. Tires screeching loudly.A white ceiling. Masked faces.Light and then silence. My eyes opened slowly as I came back to reality and found myself in an odd room. Where am I? Looking around I took in the room. The lights where dim, but some light was sipping into the room from the space in between the blinds. My hand had an cannula embedded in it. Without an IV running. There was a yellow cap holding it closed. I stared at it for a second. Was I in a hospital?I heard a couple of people pass by my door but no one came in. Then a particular set of voices got louder until they were right outside my hospital room door."We need to speak with her, it's important that take her statement", the woman spoke in a demanding tone. Like she's in a hurry."I understand officer, but she needs a few hours of rest. She suffered a really bad knock to the head and hasn't been conscious since", a soft voice spoke now. She must be the nurse. The door suddenly started to open and two wome
"The drive to the estate is going to be a long one, so I thought you'd like it if we went shopping for a few snacks". Grace cut off the cars engine before she opened her door. When I didn't move immediately she bent down and popped her head in through the open space between the driver seat door and asked ," Aren't you coming?""Oh, right. Sorry", I opened my door quickly and slammed it shut right when I was outside. We both made our way to the back of the car before walking side by side towards the supermarket. The sun was just about to disappeared behind the horizon as it shown it's last rays of golden light brightly against the side of my face. Grace glanced my way and smiled. She's really happy to see me, I just wish I could reciprocate those feelings right now. I'm feeling kinda sad all of a sudden and it's making my chest feel heavy. The parking lot seemed a lot busier than the inside of the store. I guess a lot of people just like parking there cars here or something. When we
"Thea?! Knock knock knock".Grace said, knocking three times. I wondered why people do that. They knock and tell you they are knocking. The door opened and I heard her ask," Is this a bad time?" The minute she saw my position on the bed. I was sleeping with my ass in the air, the covers draped over me halfway.I shook my head yes but she didn't leave. Instead she came into the room and shut the door behind her."Stomach aches?" She asked and I gave her another nod. "Can you lay down on your back and let me check?" I did as she said, ignoring the pain. She made her way quickly around the bed and sat down besides me before she started checking my tummy."Does it hurt when I touch here", she pushed four of her fingers down on my belly, right below my chest cavity. I shook my head no. "What about here" she did the same at the sides, closest to my back. I shook my head no. She then placed her fingers above my navel and I winced. She lowered them from there a little and I winced again when
Grace brought me breakfast in bed after she disappeared for a few minutes outside my door. I smiled at her as I eagerly sat up in bed and clapped twice. She laughed at my silliness as she placed the food on the bed and sat on the other side of the tray."Wow, food must be your love language", she commented. "Uhmmm", I harmed with a mouth full of bacon. "I'm sorry", I stopped and took some juice to wash down my food," I was really, really hungry and it only occurred to me right after I saw the food"."Well you kinda exhausted all your bodies energy by drinking medicine without a proper meal", she cut through her pancakes and shoved the piece in her mouth with a moan. "I missed Harvey's cooking "."Oh that reminds me. Who's Harvey?" I finally asked.Instead of answering she exclaimed," Harvey!" Making me cover my ears. She laughed," Sorry". She apologized just as a knock came at the door. "Come in!" She answered. An old man stepped in. He looked Chinese. Then gave us a bow of his head
"Rico?"My voice wavered and I couldn't stop my tears from cascading down my face. Tucking a loose strand of hair behind my ear, I folded my arms over my chest."Now little minion, no crying. You know I don't like seeing that", he tried sounding fine, but when he tried to smile he winced. I wiped at my cheek."Who did this to you?" I said taking a step forward and stopping instantly. I was naked under this T-shirt, and even if I wanted to hug him, I couldn't. "Don't worry about me I'm fine", typical Rico."Answer me Riri! Who the fuck did this to you?" I exclaimed, I wasn't having this. His jaw shut and I could tell he was grinding his teeth. He knew I was upset because I used the version of his name he hated. I had called him Riri the first time when I was twelve and he immediately denied the nickname. So after that I only used it to get a reaction from him. If Herman did this to him I'm never going to forgive him. When Rico didn't answer, I took another step forward and glanced up
The first thing you'd notice when entering the estate was the blurry glass wall just at the sides of the huge mahogany coloured front door. The next thing you'd notice is the crystal like doorknob, that looked like it was taken right out of a fairytale book. The Walls that held the whole house together are actually made out of huge rocks and it just adds to the mysterious feel that huge mansion gives off. In addition to it's beauty, Jasmine, Bougainvillea and Wisteria vining plants were thriving on the Stony walls of the estate making it look breath takingly beautiful. The flowers grew all the way to the towering roof tops over head, that blocked my view of the beautiful, sunny, July sky.The door opens up to reveal an bifurcated staircase that made it seem like there's only one way to go. Two doors sat on the immediate right and left side walls opposite to the staircase. Beyond both sides of the bifurcated staircase was also a hallway where the guest rooms were. The right side had a
Do you know that part in After, where Tessa locked eyes with Hardin in the on campus coffee shop? I bet a lot was going through her mind in that moment and she was feeling more and I bet she wanted more. But he turned to look away and exited the shop. I think he left her longing, wanting even when she didn't want to. I understand Tessa today. When the door opened, Herman's eyes instantly locked with mine. He had a smile on his face and the minute he saw me it disappeared right as a mask covered his face again. Harvey turned to look back at me surprised looking away afterwards. What ever this plain black mask meant must be directed towards me. Doesn't he want me to see his face? Whatever, who cares about seeing his stupid face. After Grace and Harvey left that evening, the house felt empty. Before she left Grace helped me out with putting all the clothes away in my closet just before my cramps started and man were they painful. I guess those pain killers really did a good job, because
