chapter twenty five

The next few days were a blur as Herman and I fell into a routine. I'd wake up and find breakfast on my bedside table, with a rose and a written note. Then I'd go check up on him and usually I'd find him in his office upstairs. We kinda have this unspoken agreement between us now. I do my part while he does his.

I clean his wound, become breathless afterwards because of how close our bodies are and he cooks. I still want to hate him, so so much. But with each day I wake up and find breakfast on my bedside table and a rose and a note, it just makes it harder to hate him. We haven't spoken since Tuesday though and when Harvey is over we hardly see each other. Though I think Herman still gets to see my face during those times because how else would he bring breakfast to my room. And I'm starting to think he knows my sleep schedule.
