Gerald smiled. His eyes were partially narrowed when he met her gaze.

North did not know what to say. Suddenly, she felt her throat seize up, and she panicked a little.

Why was Gerald here, and how much did he hear?

North gulped and went over. “Mr. Gerald, when did you get here?”

Gerald shot her a glance and answered languidly. “Just now.”

Just now? Thank goodness. North felt relieved. He should not have seen anything incriminating.

“I saw everything from the moment you started kicking him,” Gerald added.

The relief North felt disappeared, and her heart leapt to her throat again.

If he saw her kick Eiger, how could he say that he just arrived?!

Gerald seemed to prefer it when she was angry. He chuckled, and the sound was as pleasant as church bells.

He walked forward and bent down. His eyes were crinkled in amusement. “I saw Eiger South grabbing your hand just now. What were you talking about with him?”
