Once the auction ended, North left via the back door and took out her phone to call a cab.

“North.”

At that moment, someone called her.

Eiger went over and stopped her.

North frowned. She felt sick whenever she saw Eiger. “Not even beggars block other people’s paths. Get out of my sight.”

Eiger frowned and demanded, “What is wrong with you? Don’t you know how embarrassed Melinda was? Even if the necklace belonged to your mother, couldn’t you have talked this through in private?”

North almost laughed at that, but her anger just made her narrow her eyes. “I embarrassed her? Are you saying that I should have generously let her have my mother’s belongings? Should I have told her that she can have everything just because she likes it? Is that what you think I should have done?”

Eiger’s face turned red, but he remained stubborn. “What’s wrong with that? You’re sisters. Her glory is yours. You shouldn’t have spited her like this.”
