Chapter 27: Birthday Surprise
A few days later …
“My child!” I opened my eyes when I heard a loud shout. That’s from Madelaine’s room.
I immediately ran and entered her room. I caught her catching her breath so I easily grab a glass of water.
I asked the obvious question.
“Are you all right?” I asked as I stood beside her. She is crying.
She looked at me with her teary eyes.
“My daughter — Madi …” I frowned at the new name she said.
“Drink some water first” I said and so she did. I feel sorry for her. The hardship of not remembering and then you are dreaming it all.
