After the encounter in the kitchen, Alex hadn’t seen much of Gabe for a couple of days but she knew that it wasn’t because he was avoiding her. She was glad that wasn’t the case. She hoped that things get even better between them, but before then, before whatever it was that would happen, she thought that it was better to tell her best friend about it. She had called her last night, but she couldn’t tell her on the phone. That wasn’t a phone conversation kind of talk, so she had told her that she needed to see her for something important, whenever she was available to see her, and Cara had asked them to meet in a coffee shop in town. Alex knew how busy Cara was and that was why she had made sure to tell her they should meet only when she was available. She was glad that she made time to meet her today. Cara own a pastry shop and made cakes for weddings sometimes so she was always so busy. She understood that, so she could never ask her to show up or make time if she was busy. Sigh

Cara nodded as she looked up at the young woman and said. "Thank you, Amy. We'll order something later. For now, can we get two cups of cappuccino?" Meeting like this two days in a row wasn’t what Alex expected but Cara had called her this morning that she had news. When she had, she had hoped that it had something to do with what they discussed yesterday and the fact that there was a change in everything she told her. He had one more meeting at a restaurant before he had to go home to his mate. He had been told by his secretary at the last minute, but thankfully, it was still late afternoon, and not evening, because he would have canceled it. The man was huge and tall, so he was surprised to see himself being yanked like a paper slip. She was not expecting this behavior from Gabe, and she was more surprised because she didn’t understand why he reacted that way. She was still frowning when Alex answered Ethan's question. “He’s my boss, Mr. Gabe Berkeley.” She said simply, and the expression on his face changed.
