Chapter 3

I followed Alpha Solomon and his armed guards down the stairs and into the hallway. We kept running as I watched Alpha Solomon give instructions to people. He wanted to make sure everyone was safe.

We soon stopped at his throne room and I could see him commanding his guard to get ready. I was beside him when someone grabbed my hand. I turned to have a look and I saw Lucas. The Lucas I had started to like. I smiled sheepishly.

Alpha Solomon must have seen how calm Lucas made me feel so he ordered Lucas to stay by myself and protect me. That command made my heart jump.

As Lucas and I ran, we held hands. Alpha Solomon and his armed guards had stopped to make their stand against the attackers. I felt my heart racing in my chest, the fear of the unknown bringing a lump to my throat. But I was filled with warmth from Lucas's grasp, a symbol of safety and hope in what felt like a dire situation.

We ran, dodging debris and rubble that littered our path. I glanced back and could see the attackers gaining ground. I felt Lucas's grip tighten as if he were willing to go faster.

Suddenly, Lucas skidded to a halt and I almost ran into him. He pointed to a small doorway in the wall just to our left.

"It's a secret passageway," he said.

Without another word, Lucas grabbed my hand and pulled me through the doorway. We were plunged into darkness, and I could feel my breath quicken with fear. I stumbled after Lucas, my heart pounding in my chest. The sounds of the fight outside the walls echoed around us, and I felt fear rising within me.

Just as I thought I couldn't take it any longer, a faint light ahead caught my eye. I ran towards it, Lucas leading the way. We emerged into a large chamber, lined with torches and a large table in the middle.

"This is where the King and Queen usually meet with their advisors," Lucas said.

We rushed to the other side of the chamber, and I saw a small door in the wall. Lucas grabbed the handle and twisted it, and the door opened with a creak.

We stepped out into a long corridor, and Lucas began to lead us down it. I felt a rush of relief as the sounds of the fight outside the walls faded away.

We ran down the corridor, and it seemed like we had been running for hours. I was beginning to tire, and I felt my breath coming in short, ragged gasps. Just as I was about to give up, I saw a faint light ahead.

We stepped out into a large courtyard, surrounded by high walls. I breathed a sigh of relief as I saw the courtyard was empty. Lucas grabbed my hand and we ran across the courtyard, towards a small door in the far wall.

He opened the door, and we stepped out into the night. I could see the moonlight glinting off the waters of a nearby lake, and I felt a sense of peace wash over me.

We followed the lake's shore until we reached a small village. I saw lights in the windows and heard the sound of laughter coming from inside the houses. We stopped outside a small cottage, and Lucas knocked on the door.

A woman opened the door, and I saw the relief on her face as she recognized Lucas. She ushered us inside, and we were soon joined by a group of people - all of them friends of Lucas.

I felt safe and warm, surrounded by people who cared about us. In my short stay at the castle, I heard stories of the attack on the palace and the courage of Alpha Solomon and his guards, I hoped they would be fine.

And as I sat and listened, I felt my heart swell with hope. We had made it to safety, and no matter what happened, I knew that Lucas and I would be okay.

As Lucas and I stayed together, the connection between them seemed to grow stronger with each passing moment. I felt a warmth in my chest as I watched him like he was an old friend and I had just been reunited with him. His presence was so calming and I felt he was always so open with me.

We started talking about our lives and our dreams, and I found myself telling him things I had never told anyone else. It was like he could see into my soul. I felt like I could tell him anything.

We started going out more often, and our conversations grew deeper. I started to develop feelings for him, and I could tell he felt the same way. We talked about some random things and our hopes for the future, and it felt like we were really connecting.

One night, as we were walking home from a date, I felt myself start to tremble. I wanted to tell him how I felt about him but I wasn't sure how he was going to respond. He stopped walking and looked into my eyes and said, "Violet, I like you too."

My heart leaped in my chest and I felt my cheeks flush. I couldn't believe it. I had been so scared to tell him how I felt, but here he was, telling me he felt the same way. We embraced in a passionate kiss and it felt like the most natural thing in the world.

We ended up back at the place we were staying, and one thing led to another. We made love and it felt like we were one. I had never felt this way before, and it was the most beautiful experience of my life.

What shocked me the most was that I had blood rushing from me as he relaxed inside me. I knew I could not remember anything from my past, but the fact that I was a virgin was hard to believe.

Afterward, I lay on his arms and stared up at the ceiling, feeling like I was on top of the world. But then I started to think about how mysterious he was. He still hadn't told me much about his life, and I started to feel a bit uneasy. What was he hiding from me?

I wanted to ask him but I also didn't want to ruin the moment. I decided to just enjoy the moment and try not to think about it. He seemed to have a lot of secrets, but I was determined to find out what they were.

The next day, we went for a walk in the park and talked about our plans for the future. He seemed so sure of himself, and I wondered if he was hiding something. As we walked, I asked him more questions, but he just smiled and said that he would tell me when he was ready.

I didn't want to push him, so I decided to just trust him and enjoy our time together. I knew that eventually, he would tell me the truth, and that gave me a strange kind of comfort.

The more we spent time together, the more we began to like each other. I started falling deeply for Lucas and he liked me too. We had multiple sex night after night and soon, I was completely sure I deeply fell for him. Everything was amazing except that he was very mysterious.

But despite his mysterious nature, I continued to trust him and enjoy our time together. Little did I know, he was hiding a deep, dark secret that could change their relationship forever.
