Chapter-31*He Betrayed Me First*

Zelene Sallow:

"Oh my God! I'm so sorry," I exclaimed, raising my hands in dismay and inadvertently dropping the bottle, causing the glass to shatter and the mess to escalate.

"Ugh!" he groaned, removing his mask to clear his eyes and hair. I only stole a quick glance at his face before scrambling to my feet.

"I never should have come here. I'm not experienced enough--," I managed to stammer while stumbling into the door, at which point his secretary or guard, whoever that man was, burst into the room to check on the disconcerted man.

I had soaked him in alcohol, and treated him to an impromptu wine shower.

I didn't stick around to face their reprimands; I bolted back to the room where I had changed into the outfit.

This time, I swiftly changed in the bathroom while tears streamed down my face, my own foolishness overwhelming me.

"Is there anything I can do right?" I berated myself aloud, sobbing, realizing that I had lost the opportunity to earn some much-needed cash.
