25 A Strange Girl

Delia’s POV

In the car, I slowly opened Kral's clothes, only to find that all his wounds were simply bandaged to stop the bleeding. He closed his eyes and leaned against the carriage as if he were asleep.

His silence made the carriage too quiet. The silence makes me uneasy. I tried to rearrange his bleeding wound, but in his coat pocket I found a handkerchief I had given my father long ago.

I looked at the handkerchief with astonishment. It was placed in my father's room a long time ago as a gift, before I was completely disappointed in him. Although I later discovered that my father had never used it once, I still remember the gift.

But why is this handkerchief here?

I looked at it over and over. I cut out a piece of my childhood silk dress to make that handkerchief. I carefully sewed it on both sides, and there was a dark D on the edge. These are my initials, because I want my father to think of me when he sees this gift.
