54 Delia, It's Me.

Delia's POV

I was satisfied to see the frightened, wide-open eyes under the mask of the man in black.

"My whistle!" The man in black hurried to his chest. But it was empty.

I gave him a defiant smile.

"Stupid," I whispered, squinting.

From the beginning, I never thought I could simply kill him with a dagger. The scarf was the bait, just to get him into the water. As I had observed, it would have been easier for him to get on the boat and catch me at such a close distance from the shore. But he drove the Bone Wolves forward. This strange action proves only one thing. He was afraid to go into the water, or there was some magic in the water.

I figured it out the moment I lay on the lake bed. Since I couldn't kill him and my dagger was no match for the Bone Wolves, the only thing I could do was to bet that I could take his whistle and drive the Bone Wolves to my advantage.
