I stare at Kai's shocked expression nonchalantly. He asked the question so he should be expecting an answer.

“So you love her?” he mutters, gazing at me intently. My eyes meet his gaze without looking away.

“I never said anything like that. I was just asking you a question,” I reply.

“Speak clearly. Don't play games with me, did something happen that I don't know of?” he asks. I sigh.

“We have a war coming up. You should concentrate on that,” I mutter, turning my back and walking away. There's no need to say it in words. He must have already figured out what I meant.
