Chapter 74

Ace's POV

I've had more than enough alcohol, and my tolerance for this party has reached its limits. I walk out and head towards the garden. I stand in silence for a while, just basking in the peace and quiet, trying to organize my thoughts.

“Ace,” I sighed when I heard her call out softly. She followed me here. I continued staring at the flowers, not wanting to turn around and look at her. She walks and stands beside me.

“Can we talk? I don't like the way we ended things earlier,” she pleads.

“What's there to talk about? You already rejected me, didn't you?” I utter bitterly.

“Don't be like that. I'm deeply sorry if my words hurt you. I didn't mean them,” she said.

“But you said them anyway. So, it doesn't matter now,” I reply.

“It does matter. You hold a very special place in my heart, and nobody can change that,” she mutters. I scoff.
