Rachael's POV

I sat on a swing in an abandoned playground, gently moving back and forth on a swing, as I waited for Justin to arrive with whatever it was he had gone to get for us.

Justin had taken me out on a date after my encounter with Jake. I know he only wants to lift my mood, but it's not working. I still remember the event of that day so clearly, it deeply troubles me.

After that day, all I did was hide from Jake. I didn't want to see him or even bump into him unintentionally. I feel too guilty to look him in the eye, knowing there's no amount of sorry I would say to him would be enough to make up for what I did to him.

The way he had looked at me that day... it was still very much etched in my mind. I can't bring myself to forget how broken he looked. I could feel his sincere love for me.

I'd eventually stop hiding from him, but not now... I had rather run. After all, that's what I do best.
