Let Me Help

*****Laura's POV****

While I was in the clinic, trying to prepare for the day, Ms. Athena walked in.

“Oh my goodness! You look so heavy, Miss Athena,” I said, looking cheerful at Athena's growing bump.

“It's all thanks to you. If it weren't for your discerning eye, I'm sure I would have taken my life, some months ago, thinking I was barren and wouldn't be able to have my child.”

“Oh, come on, it's not because of me at all. I just did what I could.”

“Exactly. All you had to do was touch my stomach and make it known to me that I was actually with child, and to this very moment, I can't even begin to tell you just how happy I am that I didn't change my mind about you. Maybe things would have taken a different turn for me. Or better yet, perhaps I would have lost my child due to my ignorance.”

“And I'm still thankful that you chose to trust me, and today we'll be celebrating your safe delivery any moment from now,” I said with a smile splattered on my face.”

“Oh, thank you so much!”
