Chapter 22: Veronica

Vanessa stood at the same spot for some moments. She said a little prayer to the moon goddess to guard and protect Alexander. She was having a bad feeling about the impending war, especially when Zoey is now on their side. Vanessa once trusted her, but after finding out about her affair with her first mate, Zoey had become a total stranger to her, and she no longer had an iota of trust left within her. Zoey had frustrated her to the extent of speaking ill of her right to her face without feeling remorseful.
