The Blessing Hunt - Part l

“I am leaving tonight. I came to say goodbye.” A smile was on his face when he said, a smile that hardly reached his eyes. And I-I felt as though someone knocked the air out of me.

“Y-you are leaving tonight?”

“My father left this afternoon, and all the arrangements are made.” He said and stepped back. “Be safe and take care of yourselves.” He paused as I stared at him unable to say anything.

“Goodbye.” He turned around and walked away.

Vesna blabbered away while I responded with occasional ‘hmm and uh huh’. I stared down at the food on my plate. A few bites I had taken. That was all that I had managed to swallow. It was almost as if my heart was in distress.

After dinner, I lay awake in my bed. Tossing and turning. I was restless and so was my wolf. I sat fun sighing in frustration. My wolf paced restlessly in my conscience, and I slowly grew even more restless. But his leaving would bring me peace of mind! Won’t it? I won’t have to see him being all affectionate to that female.
