Alpha Waylen's POV

I sighed and tightened my grip on Freya's hair, pulling her even closer. "Very well," I said, my voice dripping with disgust "If you want me to believe your story, then you'll have to prove your loyalty to me."

Freya winced in pain, her hands gripping my wrist in an unfruitful attempt to free herself. "Please, Alpha Waylen," she begged, her voice shaking with fear. "I am loyal to you and this pack. I would never betray you, I swear it."

I studied her face for a moment, my eyes scanning skeptically. "Actions speak louder than words, Freya," I said, my tone harsh. "And your actions last night suggest otherwise."

I released my grip on her hair, but before she could react, I cupped her chin in my hand, forcing her to look at me "You know, my father always said that the greatest threat to a pack comes from within," I murmured, my thumb caressing her cheek. "And I'm starting to see the truth in that."
