Chapter 109

Amelia's POV

I knew I had hurt him, and part of me wished I could go back and make things right. But I had made my choice, and now I had to live with the consequences.

Kayden and I walked in silence for a while, trekking through the woods, the only sound was the crunching of leaves beneath our feet. The air was slightly filled with tension and I couldn't help but wonder what was going through his mind. After what felt like an eternity, Kayden finally broke the silence.

"Amelia," he said, his voice soft and gentle. "Are you okay?"

I let out a deep sigh, my shoulders slumping slightly, I had been waiting for him to ask. "I- I don't know, Kayden. I'm happy, the happiest person right now, but I also feel so guilty. Waylen kept Freya hostage, and I had the chance to defend her, but I didn't. What if he hurts her?"

Kayden reached out and placed a comforting hand on my shoulder. "Don't worry Amelia, Freya is safe with Waylen for now.” He said confidently.

I pulled away from his touch sligh
